Information for prospective SISN Site Inspectors
If you are an Environmental Professional (EP) interested in conducting subcontracted site visits for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in your local area, CSTAT invites you to join the Site Inspection Subcontractor Network (SISN).
SISN Site Inspectors will utilize the CSTAT Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Field Form (Field Inspection Form) to conduct site inspections. Although there may be some variations in the scope of work required by individual environmental consulting firms, the basic format of the Field Inspection Form will remain the same for each subcontracting assignment. CSTAT can create customized outputs should an environmental consulting firm already have an established field form or checklist (which is why SISN Site Inspectors can utilize the Field Inspection Form for each assignment). If the field data required for an environmental consulting firm is less than what is included in the Field Inspection Form, SISN Site Inspectors will still complete the Field Inspection Form to comply with the Standard.
Become a SISN Site Inspector
-
A SISN Site Inspector can be an employee of a national, regional, or single-office environmental consulting firm, the owner of a single-person environmental consulting firm, or an independent contractor.
-
SISN Site Inspectors will be required to be proficient with the CSTAT mobile app and the Field Inspection Form. To ensure proficiency, CSTAT will provide tutorials and one-on-one webinars. Prior to being listed as an SISN Site Inspector, a tutorial project site will be required to be completed and submitted. We anticipate that at least 2 to 3 hours of time should be allotted for the training process.
-
There is no cost to become a SISN Site Inspector other than a commitment of at least 2 to 3 hours of time associated with the training process.
-
SISN members will be strongly encouraged to use the Field Inspection Form for their own non-subcontracted (or in-house projects); however, becoming a client of CSTAT is not required to be part of the network.
-
The location and contact information for each SISN Site Inspector will be made available through a database or map. Should an environmental consulting firm have multiple SISN Site Inspectors (either in one office or in multiple offices), a single point of contact will be listed for each of the locations. An environmental consulting firm will contact the SISN Site Inspector (or point of contact) directly to engage their services.
-
The scope of work and fee are discussed between the SISN Client and the SISN Inspector. CSTAT is not involved with the subcontracting process.
-
Our intention is to limit the number of SISN Site Inspectors in a particular area to provide a better opportunity to receive subcontractor assignments. Larger metropolitan areas will have more SISN Site Inspectors than smaller metropolitan areas. CSTAT will not set pricing for your market and cannot guarantee that you will receive assignments.
